- Federal Excess Property (FEPP): If no longer in use, FEPP items must be returned to the federal government/GSA. For questions, email uofkyfepp@uky.edu. NOTE: an updated FEPP inventory will be distributed to affected departments March, 2025.
- UK Surplus: Any items not discarded must be put through the UK Surplus process. Contact: surplus@uky.edu for more informatoin. They have offered to provide consulting in advance for departmental, office, or lab moves. This sheet has tips for planning.

Materials Management & Waste/Lab Clean-Up
- Waste Wizard: An interactive tool to help you know how to recycle or dispose of an item.
- Hazardous Waste: Hazardous waste must be managed according to state and federal regulations and UK policy. The Environmental Quality Management Department (EQM) is available to provide consultation and pick-up services for all UK campus and HealthCare units to ensure safe and compliant hazardous waste management operations.

- Chemical Redistribution: Many chemicals that laboratories, healthcare facilities and facility management areas submit as chemical waste are excess chemicals that are actually reusable. The objective of the Chemical Redistribution Program (CRP) is to collect chemicals from locations that no longer have use for them and redistribute them for use by others.
